Fun Run San Pedro

photo 1

I had a great 10K Fun Run here at our very own little town of San Pedro, Laguna. Rain never stops from start to finish and had a great time running side by side with Champion Luisa Raterta up to Pacita Complex. But of course she was really fast and leaving me behind along Brgy. Landayan. It was a good run and have time reminiscing my Quezon Marathon last year where rain never stops up to the end.

I managed to finish the race still in Sub-1 at 49mins. 50secs. and landed in Top 10. But aside from that I was really humbled to receive a medal from the race director of that said fun run. Why? Because it was a ready made medal that you can easily buy in any bookstores.

But this medal reminds me of my High School days. This medal reflects all the good and bad times when I was in High School. This medal reminds me of those student in Public/Private who are very competitive  with their respective sports. This medal is very special for me.

Thanks to Paramount Insurance, the race organizer Dinoji Bhadra Ananda, Marshall in every intersections, and the Liga ng mga Barangay and Kagawad Toots Paradina and Deck Dimaunahan Job well done!!!

When i’m running, my brain has too many Tabs to Open. #southsiderunner

Yesterday i joined 5 kilometers FunRun in Manila Southwoods sponsored by Bukas-Loob sa Diyos Covenant Community BLD. Since this was a FunRun and near our place I invited a couple of friends to join and also with me is my wife who will run 5K.

At the starting line I position myself in the second row while my nephew Carlos is positioned at the front of the pack together with Atty. Menchie Obmina. You will know if you are a runner, you can easily observed who among  those positioned in the front who will run fast and those who believed that they can outrun others by running fast at the gun start but little they know that is the other way around.

Then 3-2-1 we started to ran and not long enough 300 meters those who started fast starting to slow down and while me and others overtake those who ran fast at the starting line. I ranked 3rd officially while my nephew Carlos finished 2nd and Atty. Obmina finished 1st female division. My nephew was on the recovery stage and did not pushed hard. Carlos and the other runner ran side-by-side while me catching them with a distance of 150 meters. I did not reached my target Sub-20mins time but closed enough and satisfied with 22mins 3seconds.

To the organizer I only have one observation that will help you improve for the next event. Never ever to placed your sponsored booth before and just beside the finish line, so that others will have a decent moment when they cross the finish line. Because what happened is everybody already occupied the space that supposed to be for those runners who will cross the finish line.

All in all it was a great event and have time to see my friends, tito’s and tita’s in the community which I belong during my youth years.

Distance: 5 Kilometers
Time: 22mins 3secs.
Location: Manila Southwoods (near Splash Island and San Augustine School)
